The Hampton Roads Film Office is division of the Hampton Roads Partnership. The primary purpose of the HRFO is to generate economic impacts in the Hampton Roads region bt attracting film, television and related media projects and otherwise supporting the indigenous film industry. We work in conjunction with the Virginia State Film Office and are a member of the Association of Film Commissioners International. The office opened July 2006.

The Hampton Roads Partnership is a 90+ member, public-private organization comprised of the region's top government, business, education, civic, and military leaders. The Partnership's mission is to provide leadership on those strategic issues that will improve Hampton Roads' competitive position in the global economy. The Partnership is the only organization in Hampton Roads that focuses on the region's strategic issues for the purpose of enhancing our competitiveness in the global economy with resulting income and job growth for our citizens. Hampton Roads is "America's First Region". Four hundred years ago settlers came to the New World and landed in what is now Virginia Beach and settled into Jamestown. With Colonial Williamsburg, the battlefields of Yorktown, and many historic locations the area truly has had Great Locations Since 1607. We have tremendous resources available!
